Grown wild and foraged by the Ningthi village in the Ukhrul hills of India, this Heimang, or Chinese sumac, is sundried and hand-pounded. Sumac is traditionally used to add a tangy, sour flavor to dishes when fresh lemons aren't in season. It is also said to ease digestion.
Sprinkle it on and add a zesty, sour note to your salads, labneh, and grilled meats.
